Manchester artwork-3

Second HUGE artwork installed at Manchester Victoria station footbridge

A second piece of iconic artwork, stretching more than 30 metres has been installed on a passenger footbridge at Manchester Victoria station.

Bearing the words ‘I LOVE MCR VICTORIA,’ the the striking yellow letters on a dark background are surrounded by Manchester bees.

The work is by the Mancunian artist, Dez, who is also known as LoveArtPix. He is a self taught creative artist that was diagnosed with autism in recent years and campaigns to break the stigma around neurodiverse conditions and mental health using art therapy.

The work has now been captured in a series of beautiful images by Paul Moore.

This latest work complements a previous piece he did on display at Manchester Victoria - also installed on the same footbridge which features well-known buildings from across the city centre.

Chris Jackson, regional director for Northern, who manage the station on behalf of Network Rail, said: “This amazing piece of art is a wonderful final addition to the passenger bridge interior and something I know our passengers will enjoy seeing as they travel through the station.

Dez added: “Manchester is a cosmopolitan, international city and this side of the overbridge is the first thing you see when you get off the train and head up the stairs to exit the station into its heart.

“I want to thank Northern yet again for trusting my talent as an artist to create a unique image for our proud city - and to Paul for taking such great shots of it in situ."
