***Leeds station – Wednesday 23 January 9.15-10.30am***

Northern is set to celebrate its link with Bentham Line Community Rail Group by naming a train in its honour.

The train, a Class 150 unit will be named The Bentham Line A Dementia-Friendly Railway and will be unveiled at a special event at Leeds station on Wednesday 23 January.

And it’s not just the name that will see changes, the train will also feature a striking new design both inside and out, including the Bentham Line’s logo and forget-me-nots – the recognised sign of dementia awareness.

The train naming is recognition of the work done by Northern and the community rail group to make the Bentham Line one which both welcomes and caters for the needs of dementia sufferers.

At the event, and available for interview, will be representatives from Northern, the Bentham Line CRG and dementia and Alzheimer’s charities.
