NORTHERN TICKETS TO BE ACCEPTED ON ARRIVA BUSES DURING STRIKE ON 1 AND 4 SEPTEMBER

Northern customers, during the RMT strike on Friday 1 September and Monday 4 September, will be able to use their tickets on Arriva Bus services.  This move will help keep Northern customers on the move during strike action.

Using Arriva Bus services, including Yorkshire Tiger, Northern’s customers can use buses in much of the North East, Yorkshire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Tickets can be used on Arriva Bus services for journeys that would otherwise have been made by train.

Northern expects to run over 900 services on both strike days between 7am and 7pm, with final services on some routes finishing before 7pm. Trains are expected to be extremely busy, journeys may take longer than normal and connections to other services may not be available. Northern is advising customers to consider whether their journey is necessary and to recheck services before travelling.

Please check before you travel, full details of the revised timetables and supporting information for customers can be found on the Northern’s website at northernrailway.co.uk/industrialaction.  For details on Arriva Bus services please go to arrivabus.co.uk/journeyplanner/query/en.
